DAY 3: Thursday – TEL-AVIV

. We begin our tour walking along the ancient streets of Old Jaffa, viewing the archaeological excavations and charming galleries. Then we travel to Rechovot to tour the Ayalon Institute, a secret factory camouflaged on a kibbutz making millions of bullets for the Hagana and underground. This was done right under the noses of the British authorities. Next, the kids will drive to the Lachish region to experience a "hands on dig" at an actual archaeological site, "Tel Marisha" - the birthplace of King Herod, while adults explore Sarona Market, one of the newer more gourmet places to enjoy Israeli street food. The adults will continue to the new ANU Museum, an interactive adventure through the milestones of the Jewish People’s struggle for survival and establishment of a state in Israel. *At 6:00pm there will be a meeting with all the Bar & Bat Mitzvah Celebrants and their parents before your evening free!.

DAY 4: Friday – TEL-AVIV / CAESEREA / HAIFA
BREAKFAST. Start today with a walk through the Carmel Market or Shuk, and visit the open-air craft fair, Nachalat Binyamin Market. Continue north via Netanya to Caeserea. We visit the Crusaders’ Battlement, the Roman Theater – where concerts and cultural events take place all summer long, plus the ancient Aqueduct still standing for 2000 years. Next, an emotional visit to Atlit – a former detention compound for Jewish immigrants who arrived in Israel illegally during the British Mandate period. Arrive at our luxurious hotel atop Mt. Carmel.
PM: KABALAT SABBATH SERVICE FOLLOWED BY OUR FRIDAY NIGHT TRADITIONAL DINNER. OVERNIGHT HAIFA
DAY 5: Saturday – HAIFA AT LEISURE
BREAKFAST. Sabbath at leisure. Enjoy a delightful stroll in the beautiful city of Haifa or visit a local Synagogue. The lovely pool area is yours to enjoy. Available – Optional tour to the incredible Tel Megiddo – the excavations that inspired James Michener’s book “The Source”. Next, drive to a Druze Village where we learn about their culture and customs in their environment. Browse and shop in their bustling bazaar – a fun way to end an exciting tour before returning to our hotel around 2:30 PM.

DAY 6: Sunday – HAIFA / AKKO / SAFED / UPPER GALILEE
BREAKFAST. Drive by the Bahai Gardens on our way to the ancient port city of Akko to visit the prison where members of the Hagana and Irgun were held captive during Israel’s fight for independence. Here Leon Uris’s famous novel “Exodus” was filmed. Then on to the beautiful new Jewish development town Karmiel, in the Galilee. Proceed to Safed, famous art colony and center of mystic Kabbalism. See its Synagogues and picturesque cobblestone streets and art galleries before arriving at our Kibbutz, located in the lush hills of the Upper Galilee.
PM: DINNER. AFTER DINNER, LEARN ABOUT KIBBUTZ LIFE FROM A KIBBUTZ MEMBER. KIDS ENJOY NIGHT SWIMMING AND PLAYING GAMES ON THE BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS OF THE KIBBUTZ. OVERNIGHT KIBBUTZ.
DAY 7: Monday – UPPER GALILEE
BREAKFAST. We start today with an exciting JEEP RIDE to the Golan Heights and enjoy a magnificent view of the entire Hula Valley. See the Syrian fortifications which threatened Israel for 19 years before the Six Day War. Continue to the Golan Heights Winery situated in Katzrin, capital city of the Golan Heights. The adults will enjoy tasting high quality wines. The kids will experience the activity of the harvest, grapes if ready for making wine, olives if ready for making oil, and/or flour if ready for making pita. Then the kids and parents interested will enjoy an exciting kayaking trip down the Jordan River. After at our wonderful kibbutz enjoy a swim in the magnificent indoor / outdoor pools.

DAY 8: Tuesday – Heading to Jerusalem
BREAKFAST. Depart for Beit Shean, the most exciting antiquity excavation in Israel. It is compared to Pompei of ancient Rome. Continue to Bet Alpha for a visit to the ancient Synagogue with its outstanding mosaic floor. On to Sachne, an oasis at the foot of Mount Gilboa. Enjoy a swim in this unique Garden of Eden setting. Continue to the heart of the Judean Desert for Camel trekking (kids only) and an early feast . Then we head toward Israel’s capital – Jerusalem of Gold. Following in our forefathers footsteps, we enter Jerusalem and gather for a traditional special Shehecheyanu welcome.
*Bar/Bat Mitzvah Celebrants will have a get together with the Rabbi in our hotel after check in.
PM: DINNER in the Judean Desert. OVERNIGHT JERUSALEM
DAY 9: Wednesday – JERUSALEM
BREAKFAST. Begin the day with a visit to the Western Wall – the holiest site in Judaism. Next we enter the newly excavated Tunnel that runs along the Western Wall. Continue walking through the restored Jewish Quarter of the Old City, viewing the Hurva Synagogue and the Cardo.Next, an emotional visit to Israel’s National Memorial to the Holocaust – Yad Vashem, including the New Museum to remember the magnitude of the Holocaust on European Jewry. Visit the Children’s Pavilion, the Avenue of the “Righteous Gentiles”, and the Ohel Yiskor, the main Memorial Hall.
PM: DINNER and some free time on your own before viewing the spectacular SOUND & LIGHT SHOW at the Tower of David Museum! OVERNIGHT JERUSALEM.
DAY 10: Thursday – BAR/BAT MITZVAH DAY / THE DEAD SEA / CELEBRATION PARTY
BREAKFAST. 6:30 AM depart Jerusalem for Massada where our Bar and Bat Mitzvah Ceremony will take place. Ascend by cable car to the top of this impressive last Stronghold of the Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. After our emotional ceremony, tour the fortress – see Herod’s Palace, the Synagogue and Bath Houses. Descend by cable car. Then on to the exciting and rejuvenating floating experience at the DEAD SEA known for its therapeutic healing qualities. Return to Jerusalem.

BREAKFAST. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea passing the caves of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will climb into the desert to visit the oasis of the Ein Gedi Falls and swim in the fresh cold water. Head for exciting Eilat via the Arava road.

BREAKFAST. Drive northward to the great crater of Mitzpe Ramon, the “Machtesh”, where we view a unique geological phenomenon comprised of ancient rock strata that dates back 200 million years. Then we visit David Ben Gurion’s gravesite overlooking the wilderness of Zin. Continue via Beer Sheva, capital of the Negev to the Israeli Air Force Museum to see a huge collection of millitary airplanes and helicopters used by the IDF on route to Tel-Aviv. Continue to Tel-Aviv for our farewell dinner.

Day 12: Saturday Last Day/ Late Check Out!
BREAKFAST. Sabbath. No wake up call. Join us for services at the Great Synagogue if you like. Then enjoy the fantastic Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Shrine of the Book, and the renovated model of the city of Jerusalem from the 2nd Temple Period. You have the comfort of your rooms all day- 6:00 pm CHECK OUT
PM: Dine on your own for the last night in Jerusalem before heading to the airport for your evening flight home. AIRPORT TRANSFER -7:30 pm. We leave the great land of Israel for our return to the U.S.A. with unforgettable sights and memories etched in our minds of this extraordinary, incredible country. SHALOM!
Day 13: Sunday Flights depart between midnight and 1:00am.
You arrive home early in the morning same day (Sunday).
